Kinesiology Assistant Professor Positions
The Kinesiology Department in the College of Health and Wellness at the University of North Georgia (UNG) is currently accepting applications for two tenure-track assistant professor positions to teach in the areas of kinesiology, exercise science, and health and fitness on the Dahlonega Campus. The anticipated start date is January 01, 2027, but an August start date will also be considered.
The position is a 10-month appointment.
Teach at least 12 credit hours per semester (fall/spring) in the undergraduate and/or graduate programs. Advise undergraduate and/or graduate students. Contribute to service at the departmental, college, university, and professional levels. Demonstrate a commitment to a research agenda and the production of scholarship/research. Collaborate with Department of Kinesiology, College of Health and Wellness, and institutional faculty to foster student and program success.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities include contemporary knowledge of teaching and learning practices, contemporary knowledge of theoretical and applied concepts in a kinesiology-related field, ability to work effectively and collegially with peers within the department, college, and across campuses and programs, and ability to work cooperatively with others.
Required qualifications include an earned doctorate in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology or related Kinesiology field, teaching and research experience in exercise science, health and fitness or related fields, and experience teaching in primarily face-to-face settings.
Preferred qualifications include expertise teaching or working in areas such as cardiovascular conditioning, personal and public health, exercise epidemiology and aging, exercise testing and prescription, exercise leadership, or sports nutrition. Preferred expertise teaching or working in the field of sports or elite performance (including areas such as strength and conditioning at the college or professional level, formal training in applied sports performance, or consulting).
Professional certifications and/or licenses in the field of Kinesiology such as CSCS, ACSM-EP, or USAW.
