Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for an Assessment and Strategic Initiatives Specialist. The Assessment and Strategic Initiatives Specialist works closely with the deans and academic departments to manage assessment and accreditation processes, and to support the implementation of the Mike Cottrell College of Business's strategic plan. The role coordinates the preparation, organization, and submission of all AACSB accreditation documentation
¿ including continuous improvement reviews, the Business School Questionnaire, and the Self-Evaluation Report, and serves as the College's primary point of contact for accreditation- and assessment-related matters. The specialist will design and implement a data management structure for coordinating assurance of learning data, faculty qualifications, first destination surveys, and other pertinent data for accreditation and tracking key performance indicators of the strategic plan.

Responsibilities
  • Establishes and maintains a report management system to ensure all accreditation reports and supporting documentation are submitted accurately and on time; maintains and supports the College's assessment/accreditation data management platform.
  • Collects, organizes, and analyzes internal and external data sources and disseminates assessment and accreditation information to College and University constituents and stakeholders.
  • Tracks progress on strategic initiatives and implementation by organizing and validating KPIs and preparing annual progress reports.
  • Works with department chairs to monitor and document faculty qualifications (Scholarly Academic, Practice Academic, Scholarly Practitioner, and Instructional Practitioner classifications) in accordance with AACSB standards.
  • Coordinates the College's submissions to annual AACSB surveys, including the Staff Compensation and Demographics Survey and the Business School Questionnaire.
  • Remains current on AACSB standards, higher education assessment practices, and accreditation trends through professional reading, development activities, and engagement with peer institutions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrated understanding of assessment methodology and basic statistical analysis.
  • Skill in collaborating with multiple constituencies to conduct assessment, research, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail in report preparation and recordkeeping.
  • Strong technology skills, including proficiency with spreadsheet and data-management software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to draft formal accreditation reports.
  • Proven ability to manage, track, and execute multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.
