Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for an Executive Publishing Advisor - part-time. The Executive Publishing Advisor assists the Director of the University of North Georgia Press with assigned strategic projects, publishing initiatives, grant development, and other Press priorities. The Advisor also supports the Director in developing and maintaining relationships with faculty, academic departments, universities, and academic and publishing partners.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Director of the University of North Georgia Press in carrying out assigned Press priorities, projects, and initiatives.
  • Conduct research, analysis, and project development as assigned by the Director to support Press planning, operations, publishing programs, partnerships, and new initiatives.
  • Assist the Director with publishing projects and initiatives at various stages of development as assigned.
  • Assist the Director with the development and preparation of grant proposals, narratives, project descriptions, supporting documentation, and other application materials as assigned.
  • Assist the Director in maintaining relationships between the Press and faculty, academic departments, other universities, and academic and publishing partners as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of publishing processes and practices.
  • Knowledge of higher education and academic environments.
  • Ability to conduct research, analyze findings, and synthesize information in support of assigned Press projects and initiatives.
  • Ability to prepare grant proposals, project materials, reports, and other professional documents as assigned.
  • Ability to provide effective project-based support across a range of assigned Press priorities and initiatives.
  • Ability to organize and manage assigned projects and meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently in carrying out assignments under the direction of the Director.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with faculty, academic departments, universities, and academic and publishing partners in support of assigned outreach activities.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree or higher preferred.
  • At least five years of experience within higher education or adjacent academic experience.
  • Experience in grant research, writing, reporting, and fulfilment post award.
  • Experience in interorganizational and/or interdepartmental initiatives/projects within higher education and the publishing industry.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least five years of experience in publishing, with management experience in academic publishing preferred.

Salary Range $32.72 - $35.99
