The Music Department presents a diverse series of ensemble performances, student and faculty recitals, guest artist master classes, and concerts each year, and serves as a cultural center for communities in North Georgia.

The University of North Georgia Department of Music seeks a dynamic educator and musician for a 10-month, Full-Time, Lecturer position (non-tenure track) in Clarinet and Aural Skills/Music Theory. The ideal candidate will work to recruit, develop, and retain a high-quality clarinet studio and assist with overall recruiting for the woodwind area as well as teach courses in aural and/or written music theory.

Additionally, the candidate may be asked to teach courses in music or music education based on the candidate's areas of expertise, and/or coach instrumental ensembles.

• Teach and administer the applied clarinet studio.
• Teach courses in aural skills and/or music theory.
• Teach courses in music or music education based on the candidate's area of expertise (including those in the core curriculum), and/or coach instrumental ensembles.
• Actively recruit, develop, and retain high-quality students in the clarinet studio.
• Assist with recruiting initiatives to grow the woodwind area overall as well as general recruiting initiatives for the Music Department.
• Serve on jury, recital, and audition committees.
• Attend and participate in Music Department meetings and assigned committees.
• Contribute fully to the artistic and intellectual life of the Department and support the student-centered and collegial culture of the Music Program.
• Participate in events and activities on evenings and weekends.
• Perform other duties or teaching assignments as assigned by the Department Head.

• Master's degree in music within an appropriate field.
• Previous teaching experience at the collegiate level.

• Terminal degree in music within an appropriate field.
• Demonstrated success teaching, administering, and recruiting students to an applied clarinet studio.
• Experience teaching aural skills and/or music theory.
• Experience coaching chamber ensembles.
• Experience working with diverse learners and/or in diverse teaching environments.
