Public Safety Compliance Coordinator
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Public Safety Compliance Coordinator. The Public Safety Compliance Specialist is a sworn law enforcement professional responsible for the management of departmental records, compliance oversight, and support of state certification and professional standards. This role serves as the department's Primary Records Custodian and Open Records Coordinator, ensures compliance with Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) regulations, and prepares statistical reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
The Compliance Specialist contributes significantly to the department's State Certification efforts through the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police (GACP), working to ensure that policies, procedures, and operational practices align with current certification standards and best practices in law enforcement. The position assists in the development, review, and implementation of departmental policies and procedures that support legal compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
This role requires a high degree of independence, discretion, and professional judgment. The incumbent must maintain active Georgia POST Law Enforcement Certification, swear by and adhere to the law enforcement oath of office, and uphold the integrity and ethical standards of the department at all times.
