Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for an Endpoint Software Administrator on the Gainesville campus. The endpoint software administrator's mission is to inventory, maintain, package, deploy, and provide assurance to the state of endpoint software and operating systems within the computing environment s position works closely with Technical Support Services, Endpoint Engineering, and other IT units to continuously inventory, maintain, update, and deploy software packages to ensure software is secure and up to date.

Assists the asset manager with maintaining a current inventory of all software assets in use. Travel between campuses is expected. Position will require some work to be performed during evenings as well as occasional weekends and holidays. Cell phone is required for job duties.

Responsibilities
  • Receives, packages, maintains, and releases software and operating system packages across UNG-owned endpoint systems. Ensures appropriating licensing and configurations are configured within software packages. Follows patch processes to ensure software security issues are addressed consistent with risk
  • Maintains and utilizes SCCM software center and other software repositories to maintain an enterprise-wide software catalog and view of software and compliance.
  • Commits after-hours maintenance and communicates updates to software and operating systems changes. Participates in value streams related to endpoint software
  • Provide analysis, diagnosis, and Tier II/III resolution of technical issues for end users, including remote repair for remote users as needed. Contributes to the creation and updating of support documentation and provides in-time training to campus faculty and staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows and Apple operating systems.
  • Knowledge of mobile devices, MDM solutions.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage workload, and strong problem ownership skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is a must.
  • Must be punctual and dependable.
  • Working level knowledge of ITIL processes and ITSM best practices.
  • Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
