Federally designated as a senior military college, one of the university's signature leadership programs is its 800-member Corps of Cadets on UNG's Dahlonega Campus.
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Student Network Technician on the Dahlonega Campus. This position provides basic technical support for network and telecommunications systems. Assists Network & Telecom staff with routine operational and maintenance tasks. Gains hands-on experience in enterprise networking environments while supporting daily IT operations.
Responsibilities- Assist with installation, labeling, and organization of network equipment and cabling.
- Perform basic network troubleshooting under supervision.
- Help maintain inventory of network hardware and supplies.
- Update documentation, diagrams, and asset records.
- Respond to routine service requests and support tickets.
- Follow established IT policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, networking, and technology concepts.
- Willingness to learn networking and telecommunications systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
Enrollment in University of North Georgia, preferably in the
Computer Science or Computer Information Systems program.
