• Sweep, damp mop, and wet mop tile floors; follow center procedure and use wet floor signs.
• Report carpeted areas that need cleaning or spot removal to supervisor.
• Vacuum carpeted rooms as applicable.
• Damp clean surfaces in patient rooms following center procedure and use wet floor signs.
• Empty trash cans, clean exterior and interior, and replace can liner with a clean one.
• Clean bathroom sinks, fixtures, and toilets following center procedure.
• Clean glass surfaces such as mirrors, pictures, and windows.
• Clean behind and underneath furnishings.
• Move furniture to clean behind/underneath according to center procedures.
• Turn bed mattresses after cleaning.
• Clean dining area after breakfast and lunch; wipe tables, sweep, mop, etc.
• Change soiled privacy curtains and draperies for outside windows as needed.
• Remove and rehang curtains and draperies for outside windows using a ladder.
• Sweep outside porches, walkways, etc.; pick up any trash not properly disposed.
• Follow cleaning schedules set by supervisor.
• Follow infection control standards while performing cleaning.
• Use isolation techniques (gowns, gloves, special cleaning, etc.) as needed.
• Recognize patient rights while cleaning patient rooms; treat patients and belongings with dignity and respect.
• Safeguard chemicals, keeping them locked or in sight.
• Follow MSDS precautions for chemicals used.
• Assist in proper care and use of housekeeping equipment, supplies, and storage areas.
• Clean and properly store equipment after each shift following procedures.
• Inspect equipment prior to use to ensure safe operation.
• Report equipment repairs needed to Maintenance Department.
• Maintain adequate supplies in bathrooms throughout center.
• Prevent/remove wax/dirt build‑up in corners and around baseboards, doorways.
• Promote system image and reputation by exhibiting servant leadership and open communication.
• Contribute to committees, work groups, and collaborative efforts of the system.
• Perform other duties as necessary to ensure system success.

• Understands basic cleaning principles and safety related to chemical handling.
• Communicates well with associates, patients, family members, and visitors; provides warm, friendly greeting and approachable attitude. Responds to concerns with helpful, caring demeanor.

A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Read, interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups.
• Add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Apply common sense to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions; solve problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.

Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Regularly required to sit, talk or hear; frequently required to walk; use hands and arms to reach; occasionally required to stand. Requires close, distance, and adjustable vision.
