Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Facility Maintenance
Pay Rate:
$19.00 per hour
Work Schedule:This position follows a rotating 4-day schedule:
Weeks 1 & 2: Work Monday through Thursday
Weeks 3 & 4: Work Wednesday through Saturday
Hours: 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM each day, with a 30-minute lunch break.
You’ll have every Sunday off and either Friday–Saturday or Monday–Tuesday off depending on the week.
Position Summary:The Utility/Maintenance Support supports daily facility cleanliness and preventive maintenance while developing skills to become a certified Maintenance Technician. This role ensures quality control through cleanliness, assists in routine and project-based maintenance tasks, and participates in company-sponsored technical training. The trainee will learn the powder coating process, equipment functionality, and perform light mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities & Performance Expectations: Facility & Equipment CleaningMaintain cleanliness of Building 122 and associated production areas to control dust and contamination.
Execute daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning checklists with 95% on-time completion.
Perform deep-cleaning tasks before/after high-dust operations or shutdown periods.
Perform scheduled inspections and light maintenance tasks under supervision (lubrication, filter changes, tightening, visual checks).
Log findings and escalate issues accurately with
Support weekend facility walk-throughs for leaks, safety issues, and equipment readiness.
Assist with maintenance projects including disassembly, reassembly, parts replacement, and equipment calibration.
Complete assigned tasks safely and correctly with less than 2 rework instances/month.
Maintain tool accountability and work area organization.
Ensure all cleanliness standards are met to eliminate risk of foreign particle contamination, especially in powder coating areas.
Partner with QA/QC teams to resolve cleanliness-related findings within 48 hours.
Attend all required company-provided maintenance technician training courses.
Demonstrate progress by passing written and hands-on assessments per training schedule.
Shadow skilled technicians to learn mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic system principles.
Gain working knowledge of powder coating process, including equipment operation, troubleshooting basics, and contamination control.
Document learning progress weekly; assist in basic troubleshooting with supervision within 90 days.
High school diploma or GED
Willingness to work flexible hours, alternating Saturdays, and support weekend projects
Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and work in industrial environments
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
Prior experience in industrial cleaning, janitorial, utility, or production support roles
Interest in skilled trades or maintenance career paths
