Job Summary

The College of Arts & Letters Dean's Office is seeking a creative, motivated, and detail-oriented Student Assistant to support communications, marketing, and outreach efforts. This position will assist with the creation, management, and promotion of content across the College's social media channels and web platforms while also providing general office support. The position offers a flexible hybrid work schedule, with approximately half of the hours worked in the office and half remotely.

Responsibilities
  • Create, schedule, and manage content for the College's social media platforms.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating web-based communication platforms.
  • Promote College events, programs, initiatives, and accomplishments through digital communications.
  • Develop engaging content, including graphics, photos, videos, and written communications.
  • Monitor social media engagement and respond appropriately as directed.
  • Assist with marketing, public relations, and communications projects.
  • Provide general office support and complete special projects as assigned by the Dean's Office.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Knowledge of social media trends and best practices.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Creativity and professionalism in content creation.
  • Strong interpersona, written, verbal, and communication skills.
  • Dependability and initiative.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to represent the College positively and professionally across digital platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
Required Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
  • Experience using and navigating major social media platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Major or minor in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Experience creating content for social media and digital marketing campaigns.
  • Experience with graphic design, photography, video editing, or social media analytics.
