Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant (GA) at the University of North Georgia's Food Pantry on the Cumming Campus. The Graduate Assistant (GA) at the University of North Georgia’s Food Pantry will play a key role in supporting the operations and initiatives of the UNG Food Pantries and the Cumming Campus. The GA will assist in supporting, managing day-to-day Food Pantry operations, enhancing the Pantry's capacity to serve the university community, as well as work with the Campus Support Specialist to design campus-wide communications.

This position will also assist in collecting and preparing data for presentation to both internal and external partners.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily operations of the Food Pantry by taking inventory, stocking shelves, monitoring supplies, and tracking usage
  • Ensure inventory is maintained, monitored, and replenished as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the Food Pantry space.
  • Provide support to students, staff and faculty members utilizing the Food Pantry.
  • Work closely with volunteers and donors to ensure efficient and respectful distribution of food items
  • Maintain records of pantry usage and compile reports with usage data.
  • Create flyers and other communications about campus activities and events
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Experience with MS Office
  • Outgoing and comfortable around people
  • Strong commitment to helping others
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and administration
  • Ability to multitask and work with interruptions
Required Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
  • Must be a graduate student
