Job SummaryThe University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Part Time Campus Safety Ambassador. The Campus Safety Ambassador (C.S.A.) is dedicated to ensuring safety and enhancing well-being across UNG campuses, encompassing indoor and outdoor environments. Key responsibilities include patrolling campus grounds, offering safety escorts, managing traffic flow, serving as receptionists, providing assistance to motorists, and collaborating with UNG police officers in responding to service calls.
C.S.A. members are non-sworn personnel who operate under the supervision and guidance of the UNG Department of Public Safety (UNGDPS).
- Patrol campus areas, provides safety escorts, assists motorists, secures/unlocks and provides authorized access to buildings, checks emergency call boxes and other equipment, provides services at events, reports incidents and suspicious activity to UNGDPS Central Dispatch, and responds to other calls for service.
- Responds to specific types of calls for service, along with responding UNG police officers.
- Directs vehicular and pedestrian traffic in assigned areas.
- Serves as receptionist at precincts.
- Attends UNGDPS events for training and public outreach.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Good communication skills, customer service, knowledge of university geography, basic computer use.
- Be able to operate a university owned golf cart, ATV, motor vehicle, and/or bicycle.
- Ability to communicate over two-way radios.
- Ability to maintain required job training.
- Must possess the exceptional moral character needed to act as a role model for safety and lawfulness to the university community.
- Must be able to stand, move, and wave arms for 30 minutes.
- Must wear uniform.
- High School or GED required.
- Class C Driver's License.
- Must obtain CPR Certification, Stop the Bleed Certification, GCIC Security & Awareness Certification, and UNG Vehicle Training Certifications during the training period of employment.
