Hand Picked Hotels is a collection of 21 privately owned luxury country houses and coastal retreats across the UK and Channel Islands.

We are recruiting a Receptionist at Fermain Valley Hotel & Spa, a 4‑star luxury hotel in Guernsey.

About the Role

The role of our receptionists is to deliver an exceptional guest experience, putting the guest at the heart of everything you do, through personalised and thoughtful service with care and attention to detail.

  • You will demonstrate a high level of engagement with guests throughout their stay to make them feel at home, relaxed, and create magical memories at every opportunity.
  • Collaborate with the Front Office team to maintain regular and effective communication ensuring a seamless operation and awareness of all daily activities.

About You
  • Knowledge and experience working in a luxury four or five star hotel within a front office environment.
  • Passionate about going above and beyond for guests, recognising and skilfully acting on opportunities to make the guest experience memorable.
  • High level of emotional intelligence to anticipate guests' needs and deliver a Hand Picked experience.
  • Proficient computer skills, including hotel reservation systems and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Opera is desirable.
  • Enthusiastic and solution‑oriented approach to any scenario.
  • Calm and professional demeanor, maintaining a positive attitude even under pressure.
Company Benefits
  • A competitive salary package of £14.82 per hour, plus a share of service charge.
  • Full‑time role, 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 including weekends on a rota basis (may vary).
