Job Summary: The Support Technologist II is a vital, supportive member of the PCSD team, working collaboratively with educators, support staff, and administration to ensure all students receive the education they need to succeed. The role is performed in a school environment, overseen by the Director of Technology Support Services.
All staff are expected to fully adhere to the ethical standards set by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, demonstrating a strong understanding of their responsibilities and a commitment to the best interests of students.
Qualifications & Knowledge- Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information or Computer Science. Combination of education and experience may substitute. - Technical certifications, training, and experience demonstrating cybersecurity, network protocols, and computer maintenance.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a technical service‑related field.
- Provide first and secondary level user technology support across multiple schools and administrative buildings, including students and staff in the operation of computers, software, and peripherals.
- Maintain, install, and configure computer equipment, peripherals, and software applications.
- Maintain routine maintenance records and logs.
- Facilitate operation, organization, and supervision of computers, peripherals, and software for designated areas.
- Assist users in the operation of computers, peripherals, programs, and other classroom and office technology.
- Maintain cooperative working relationships and customer service with site administrators and office staff.
- Assist in establishing procedures for computer equipment and software use.
- Ensure all computer‑related devices are operational.
- Maintain accurate inventory of records for all equipment and software.
- Document user instructions for technology devices and software.
- Deliver training for computing devices and software to end‑users and support staff.
- Provide escalated support and leadership to other technology support personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Superintendent or designee/supervisor.
- Adherence to legal statutes, organizational rules, and community standards.
- Maintenance of successful working relationships with co‑workers.
- Teamwork and emotional stability throughout job performance.
