Qualifications:
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED Must possess a valid driver's license, have dependable transportation, and have a good driving record Must be trained under an approved apprenticeship program in locksmithing Minimum of three (3) years successful experience as a locksmith preferred The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.
Essential Functions:
Inspect and perform routine tasks to ensure that the school facilities are secure Routinely inspect all exterior doors, closures, and locking hardware in each school to ensure proper operation Repair/replace doors, hardware, and locking devices as necessary due to vandalism or wear Complete all assigned work orders Be prepared to respond after normal working hours, during weekends, and holidays to secure any building, mobile unit, etc.,
due to vandalism, weather, or other conditions Assist contractors with the keying of new school facilities. Direct the re-keying of existing facilities when directed Issue and maintain keys for maintenance, custodial, and BOE staff Work without constant direction Maintain clean work site Complete all paperwork in a timely manner, obtaining proper signatures from the issuing administrator Estimate time, material and supply needs to complete assigned jobs Monitor inventory levels of locksmithing parts and supplies Assist in ordering parts and supplies as directed Maintain routine records related to assigned activities Report immediately safety hazards which affect the welfare of students and district employees Safely operate all types of hand and power tools Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee Applicants will be selected for interview.
