Job Summary: The Executive Director of Middle School Operations is a vital and supportive member of the PCSD team, working collaboratively with educators, support staff, and administration to achieve the shared goal of ensuring all students receive the education they need to succeed both today and tomorrow. This role is performed within a office & school environment, overseen by the Assistant Superintendent of School Leadership, where teamwork and dedication to student success are paramount.
All staff are expected to fully adhere to the ethical standards set forth by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, continuously demonstrating a strong understanding of the tasks and responsibilities their roles require. Moreover, they must embody the core belief that every action we take is driven by a commitment to the best interests of our students.

Primary Function: The Executive Director of Middle School Operations is a key leadership position that drives the operational excellence, safety, and cultural health of the district’s middle schools. This role supports and enhances principals' operational leadership capacity through coaching, professional development, and the implementation of systems to improve student attendance, discipline, and school climate.
The Executive Director serves as a primary liaison between district operational departments and school leaders, ensuring effective two-way communication and the consistent application of board policies. The position provides leadership and vision for school-level operations and extracurricular programming, ensuring safe, orderly environments optimized for student engagement.

Must hold or be eligible for Georgia level 6 certification or higher in Educational Leadership/Administration
Five (5) years of secondary education administrative experience and/or central office experience required
Principal experience required; secondary school principal experience preferred
Broad base of total school operations experience with a thorough understanding of applicable state and federal laws and Local Board of Education rules and regulations
Highly skilled in interpersonal communication, leadership coaching, critical conversations, and conflict resolution
Demonstrates sound judgment, initiative, and responsibility
The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.
Essential Functions I. Leadership and Supervision- 1 Selects, leads, and develops middle school principals. Provides operational leadership coaching and supervision to drive continuous school improvement aligned with district strategic goals.
- 2 Supports the selection process for all middle school administrative positions to create a leadership pipeline of promotion-ready leaders.
- 3 Sets clear expectations for middle school operational leadership and high-quality school climate practices.
- 4 Conducts school visits, walkthroughs, and data analysis to support principal coaching, feedback, and accountability regarding attendance, discipline, and resource management.
- 5 Supports and monitors the development of individual principal professional growth goals and school climate improvement goals.
- 6 Designates and prioritizes time for principal coaching, school visits, and operational support.
- 7 Selects, leads, and develops department staff. Hires, supervises, and evaluates the performance of assigned staff members in the department.
- 8 Fosters a collaborative culture by building strong relationships with principals and other district leaders. Promotes a shared sense of ownership for student outcomes and collaborative efforts towards school and district improvement.
