Job SummaryFull‑time, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m., 28‑bed Med‑Surg unit focused on post‑surgical patients with overflow to general Med‑Surg and telemetry. Magnet designated, Leapfrog and Prism awards. Enhanced sign‑on bonus eligible (up to $20 k for RNs with one year of experience).
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions- Exemplary Practice & Outcomes
- Perform nursing process with assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation using evidence‑based practice.
- Provide relationship‑based, patient‑centered care adapted to cultural diversity.
- Partner with patients and significant others for bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, and education, keeping patient goals central.
- Practice current clinical standards.
- Teamwork & Collaboration
- Coordinate safe, quality patient care and documentation, supporting an inclusive environment.
- Demonstrate fiscal responsibility and support recruitment/retention of team members.
- Participate in performance improvement and shared governance at all system levels.
- Professional Development & Initiative
- Complete initial and ongoing competency assessments and mandatory education.
- Serve as preceptor/mentor for professional nurses, staff, or students.
- Evidence‑Based Practice & Research
- Promote evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement.
- Participate in value analysis and data collection, consult experts, and use appropriate resources.
- Resources & Support
- Plan care across the continuum, support protocols and procedures, and optimize human and material resources.
- Perform duties as assigned and comply with Wellstar policies and codes of conduct.
Minimum Education
- Associate’s or Diploma in Nursing, or Bachelor’s in Nursing (preferred).
- RN – Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN‑COMPACT (Multi‑state Compact).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of RN experience in direct patient care.
- Fluency in English.
- Basic computer skills and technology proficiency.
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer‑service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and respond decisively to emergencies.
- Excellent time‑management and critical‑thinking abilities.
