District Nurse

Job Description

Dallas School District No. 2 is accepting applications for a full-time District Nurse.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Applicants must have a valid Oregon Registered Nurse License
• Valid Oregon Driver's License
• Strong interpersonal skills in working with students, staff, parents, and community agencies
• Experience in school nursing or community health nursing with school aged children is preferred
• School based nursing experience prefered, but not required.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assumes leadership in planning, coordinating, and implementing the district's primary health program.
• Keeps current on changes in ORS and OAR.
• Facilitates health-related in services.
• Serves as a medical liaison to parents and community health providers.
• Monitors infection control kits, health rooms, medicine dispensing procedures, and other delegated duties at each building.
• Serves as a resource person for school personnel.
• Attends building and community meetings as needed. Serves on district committees as needed.
• Knows and understands all policies, regulations, and procedures of the school and district.
