Contractor Sales

Gold Beach Lumber Yard, Inc. seeks a Contractor Sales team member to serve local contractors and DIY customers. In this retail sales role, you'll assist customers with lumber, hardware, tools, and building materials, preparing quotes, writing orders, and coordinating deliveries. You'll learn product specs, read simple project plans, and recommend solutions that fit budget and timelines. Daily work includes counter sales, phone inquiries, and follow-up with regular contractor accounts.

You'll help monitor inventory, keep the sales area organized, and work closely with yard staff to ensure accurate, on-time orders and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-store and phone sales support to contractors and DIY customers
• Prepare price quotes, special orders, and sales tickets for building materials and hardware
• Advise customers on appropriate lumber, hardware, tools, and supplies for projects
• Maintain product knowledge of building materials, fasteners, tools, and related items
• Coordinate with yard and delivery staff to ensure accurate, timely order fulfillment
• Support inventory checks, stocking, and merchandising in the sales area
• Build and maintain relationships with repeat contractor customers
• Use point-of-sale systems to process transactions and returns accurately
• Assist with resolving customer issues and product questions
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized counter and showroom area
