Solara Search are proud to be partnering with an established, privately held real estate development and property management company headquartered in Dallas.

The business develops, owns and operates a growing portfolio across retail commercial and multi-use assets and is now strengthening its finance function to support continued development activity.

This is a hands‑on accounting role with real ownership. Reporting into a newly promoted Chief Accounting Officer, you’ll take responsibility for the accounting across a portfolio of properties and development entities, working closely with operations, asset management, and external partners.

• You’ll own month‑end close across multiple entities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• You’ll prepare and review financial statements, variance analysis, and property‑level reporting.
• You’ll manage CAM reconciliations, tenant billings, and revenue recognition.
• You’ll support development accounting, including construction draws, capitalized costs, and loan compliance.
• You’ll work with external tax advisors and auditors during year‑end and compliance cycles.
• You’ll help improve processes, controls, and reporting as the portfolio scales.

• Strong experience in property or real estate accounting (this is essential).
• Comfortable managing multiple entities and deadlines without being micromanaged.
• Experience with Yardi, MRI, or similar property management systems is highly preferred.
• Solid GAAP knowledge and confidence owning the close process end‑to‑end.
• CPA or public accounting background is a plus, but not a blocker.
• Someone pragmatic, detail‑oriented, and commercially aware, not just technically strong.
