ABOUT THE POSITION
This full-cycle Staff Accountant role is primarily responsible for agency media billing, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing of vendor bills, payments, and vendor records. This position is an integral part of the accounting department in producing accurate and timely financial statements for the company, its subsidiaries, and related entities. This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented self-starter who can effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
This position reports directly to the Senior Accounting Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage full-cycle accounts payable and daily cash receipts for the agency and affiliated entities, ensuring timely, accurate processing and strong data integrity
- Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and prepare roll-forward reconciliations, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies
- Support monthly client and media billing and reconciliation activities to ensure accurate and complete financial reporting
- Serve as a primary point of contact for vendor and internal payment inquiries, resolving issues efficiently and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships
- Assist with compliance-related activities, including annual 1099 preparation, documentation management, and audit readiness
- Contribute to continuous improvement by updating accounting SOPs and supporting process and system enhancements as directed by accounting leadership
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required, with demonstrated ability to apply accounting principles to transactional processing and account reconciliations
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a fast-paced accounting environment, effectively managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP with the ability to apply standards accurately in day-to-day accounting operations
- Proven attention to detail and analytical skills, with experience reconciling data from multiple sources and resolving discrepancies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with vendors, internal teams, and management while handling sensitive information with discretion
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including analytical Excel skills, and experience using Net Suite or a comparable ERP system preferred
