The organization operates with a hands-on ownership mindset while partnering with third-party operators at the asset level.
Role OverviewThe firm is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Controller’s group in Dallas, TX
. This is a newly created role driven by continued portfolio and fund growth. The Senior Accountant will report to the Controller and manage one Staff Accountant, playing a key role in scaling accounting operations as the platform continues to expand.
- Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close and reporting for the management company and affiliated REIT entities
- Record acquisitions and dispositions of real estate investments
- Prepare quarterly financial statements for the Board and select lenders
- Support annual audits and coordinate with external auditors
- Oversee cash management, including daily liquidity review and cash forecasting
- Assist with REIT compliance, tax structuring considerations, and loan covenant compliance
- Maintain and enhance internal controls, policies, and procedures
- Implement best practices across accounting processes
- Support budgeting and projections as needed
- Coordinate with property accountants and review monthly property-level financials
- Partner cross-functionally with Investment, Asset Management, and Finance teams
- Contribute to the continued build-out and success of the accounting function
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CPA required
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including consolidation and asset acquisition accounting (ASC 805 / ASU 2017-01)
- Ability to perform and document technical accounting research
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail with strong project and time management abilities
- Experience with ERP and reporting tools (e.g., SAP, Power BI) a plus
