Staff Accountant

Overview

Staff Accountant — Garland, TX – hybrid, 3 days onsite

Vaco has partnered with a highly-acquisitive tech company in the East Dallas in the process of building out an Accounting team and looking to onboard 1-2 Staff Accountants. This is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor and have a direct impact on the organization as well as promote from within.

Candidate must have a solid foundation in day-to-day accounting including journal entries, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting ME close processes (nice to haves: exposure to inventory, fixed assets, or revenue accounting).

Compensation: 70-80K base

• Prepare and post journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded accurately.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Monitor and analyze accounting data to identify discrepancies and trends.
• Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules.
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions as needed.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Net Suite, SAP).
