Overview
We are seeking an Accountant or Senior Accountant to join our accounting team with an initial focus on Accounts Receivable. This role supports core AR functions while contributing to broader accounting operations. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, organized, and comfortable working cross functionally with internal teams and external customers regarding billing, pricing, and required documentation.
This position is designed to grow with the individual. While the primary focus begins in Accounts Receivable, there are structured opportunities over time to gain exposure to other accounting functions such as payroll and Accounts Payable through team rotation and cross functional collaboration.
Responsibilities- Support the full Accounts Receivable cycle including invoicing, cash application, and collections
- Prepare, update, and maintain pricing schedules, rate sheets, and customer specific billing structures
- Generate and distribute accurate monthly invoices based on contracts, proposals, and scopes of work
- Review customer contracts and service scopes to ensure accurate and compliant billing
- Reconcile Accounts Receivable ledgers and follow up on outstanding balances
- Communicate with customers to resolve billing discrepancies and documentation requests
- Prepare and maintain customer required documents such as certificates of insurance, W9 forms, vendor packets, and onboarding paperwork
- Maintain organized digital records of billing history, contracts, and customer files
- Assist with bank deposits, bank reconciliations, and Accounts Receivable related reporting
- Support month end close by preparing schedules and supporting documentation
- Perform ad hoc accounting and administrative projects as assigned
- Review and oversee Accounts Receivable processes to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Support process improvements related to billing, documentation, and internal controls
- Perform more complex reconciliations and resolve escalated billing issues
- Take a lead role in month end close activities related to Accounts Receivable
- Prepare or review management reports related to AR aging, cash flow, and collections
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff as needed
- Support audit requests and internal reviews related to revenue and Accounts Receivable
While the primary responsibilities are outlined above, this role may also support additional accounting or administrative tasks as needed. Flexibility and a collaborative mindset are important as responsibilities may evolve over time. Over time, and based on performance, interest, and business needs, team members may rotate into or gain exposure to other accounting functions such as payroll and Accounts Payable. Responsibilities are assigned through structured team rotation rather than accumulation, allowing individuals to broaden their skill set while maintaining balanced workloads.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred
- Prior experience in Accounts Receivable, billing, or accounting preferred but not required
- Senior Accountant candidates should have relevant accounting experience commensurate with the role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast paced environment
Compensation will be determined based on experience, skill level, and role scope.
This position is also eligible for semi annual performance bonuses and commission incentives related to additional services, based on individual performance and company guidelines.
