Manager – GL & Corporate Accounting

The Senior Manager of GL & Corporate Accounting leads the organization’s general ledger operations, monthly/quarterly close processes, and corporate level accounting activities. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with accounting standards. The Senior Manager partners with cross-functional teams including FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Audit to support strategic financial decision-making. This role will report to Senior Director of Accounting.
Key Responsibilities- General Ledger & Close Management
- Oversee the full GL accounting cycle, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments.
- Manage and review monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial results.
- Monitor and improve close timelines, ensuring adherence to corporate deadlines.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of consolidation entries and intercompany eliminations.
- Corporate Accounting & Reporting
- Lead preparation of corporate financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
- Own corporate level accounting areas such as fixed assets, leases, prepaid expenses, accruals, bank reconciliation and treasury related entries.
- Review variance analyses and work with FP&A on understanding key business drivers.
- Manage compliance with internal accounting policies and maintain documentation.
- Controls, Compliance & Audit
- Partner with internal and external auditors by preparing schedules, responding to inquiries, and resolving audit findings.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and control effectiveness.
- Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, develop, and mentor a team of 1-2 senior and staff accountants.
- Establish clear performance expectations and foster a culture of continuous learning and accountability.
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, and career development for the team.
- Systems & Process Optimization
- Champion automation and efficiency initiatives in the close and reporting processes.
- Oversee ERP system enhancements related to GL and corporate accounting functions.
- Ensure data integrity and work closely with IT on system controls.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA preferred.
Experience
- 8–12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including GL and corporate accounting.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP or IFRS.
- Experience managing accounting teams.
- Experience in a multinational or multi-entity environment.
Skills
- Proficiency with major ERP platforms (Workday, Net Suite, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
