Job SummarySST is seeking a Senior Accountant in the Client Accounting & Advisory Services in the Dallas area.
The Senior Accountant in the Client Accounting & Advisory Services (CAAS) department is responsible for delivering full-service outsourced accounting services, including transactional processing, payroll consultation, financial reporting, and client communication. This role emphasizes proactive problem-solving, ownership of deliverables, and growing leadership responsibilities. Senior Accountants serve as champions of CAAS technology platforms, act as primary client contacts on day-to-day matters, and begin developing industry expertise.
They are expected to demonstrate initiative, strong decision-making, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-client environment.
- Maintain 1,650–1,800 billable hours annually.
- Achieve 90% realization rate across assigned work.
- Deliver timely and accurate outsourced accounting services, ensuring compliance with GAAP, firm policies, and client expectations.
- Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving, bringing solutions (not just issues) to Managers and Supervisors.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, aligned with engagement scope.
- Become certified in assigned CAAS technology platforms, and serve as a champion/expert within the team.
- Demonstrate effective delegation and coaching skills with Staff Accountants.
- Deliver full-service outsourced accounting to clients, including transactional processing, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Prepare accurate work papers and audit-ready financials in compliance with GAAP or tax basis requirements.
- Provide payroll consultation, ensuring compliance and accuracy in client reporting.
- Support clients with day-to-day accounting operations and timely responses to inquiries.
- Serve as a day-to-day contact for client requests, questions, and reporting needs.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, demonstrating professionalism and effective communication.
- Proactively identify and address issues, escalating solutions to Managers and Supervisors.
- Provide strategic and proactive recommendations where appropriate, supporting client success.
- Develop expertise in at least one CAAS technology platform, acting as a team champion and resource.
- Obtain and maintain certification in assigned CAAS tech stack platforms.
- Drive process improvement and efficiency through technology adoption and automation.
- Ensure adherence to firm policies, procedures, and engagement economics.
- Begin networking and developing industry specialization, positioning for future leadership roles.
- Demonstrate initiative, ownership, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, multi-client environment.
- Provide delegation and coaching to Staff Accountants, reviewing and guiding their work as assigned.
- Participate in internal and external training to increase proficiency in technical and technology skills.
Required:
- 3+ years of progressive experience in public accounting, with significant CAAS or related advisory focus.
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting processes and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in CAAS technology platforms, with willingness to pursue platform certifications.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, problem-solve, and exercise strong decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to build relationships.
- Demonstrated initiative, ownership, and proactive mindset.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- CPA license or in pursuit of CPA designation.
- Recognized expertise or emerging interest in an industry specialization.
- Active involvement in professional associations or community activities.
