Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant Dallas, TX Compensation: $70-80k Vaco is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join one of our large, multi location clients. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations across different locations and work closely with the senior accountants and accounting director.

Key Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and intercompany transactions Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial data Support preparation of financial statements and internal management reports Assist with variance analysis and expense tracking against budgets Prepare supporting schedules for leadership review Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve reporting efficiency Support implementation or optimization of accounting systems and tools Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 1–3+ years of accounting experience Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP fundamentals Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis) CPA or CPA-track preferred but not required
