Oil & Gas Property Accountant - Dallas, TX

LHH is working with an exceptional oil and gas company in the Dallas area that is adding a new Property Accountant to their team. The ideal candidate will have public accounting experience, and this role entails comprehensive accounting oversight for a designated portfolio of oil and gas assets. This role requires the practical application of technical accounting principles. and the company provides training on company accounting methodologies along with close supervision and specific directives.

• Big4 or public accounting experience

• Manage accounting activities for a portfolio of operating assets, ensuring accurate financial reporting
• Prepare and review journal entries, along with supporting schedules and analysis
• Track and reconcile revenue streams, production activity, and related financial data
• Analyze asset performance and provide insights based on financial results
• Maintain general ledger accounts related to revenue, taxes, and royalties
• Collaborate with operations and field personnel to ensure accurate data flow
• Assist with required regulatory and governmental reporting
• Support transaction‑related activities, including large‑scale asset acquisitions
• Participate in audit support and special projects as needed

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Preferred:
  Pursuing CPA certification.
• 1+ year of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in applying accounting principles, theories, and concepts.
• Capability in journal entry preparation, financial data analysis, and familiarity with technical accounting principles.
• Attention to detail is crucial to ensure precision in all tasks.
