Interim Senior Accountant (Contract Position)

We are looking for an interim Sr. Accountant to support key accounting operations for a long-term contract opportunity in Dallas, Texas. This role will play an important part in maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing close activities, and ensuring accounts are fully reconciled in a timely manner. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger expertise, hands-on Net Suite experience, and a background working in nonprofit and grant-related accounting environments.

This is a 3-month contract position

Hybrid work schedule in Dallas, TX 75247 (2 days a week in the office)

Responsibilities:

• Lead monthly close activities by preparing and reviewing financial entries, analyzing account activity, and helping ensure reporting deadlines are met.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger through accurate recording of transactions and consistent review of supporting documentation.
• Prepare journal entries for routine and complex accounting events while verifying completeness and accuracy before posting.
• Perform detailed reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies through timely research and follow-up.
• Manage bank account reconciliation processes to confirm cash activity is properly recorded and outstanding items are addressed promptly.
• Use Net Suite to support day-to-day accounting functions, reporting needs, and financial record maintenance.
• Support nonprofit accounting processes, including treatment of restricted funds and other organization-specific financial activities.
• Track and account for grant-related transactions to help ensure expenditures and reporting align with funding requirements.
