Senior Tax Manager — International Tax Focus

About the RoleA well-established boutique firm in Dallas is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to step into a key leadership role. This person will work directly with the founding partner, managing a significant portion of their client base while collaborating closely with leadership on strategy and firm growth. The ideal candidate brings strong experience across inbound and outbound tax matters, with the technical range to serve as the primary resource on international issues and the advisory mindset to manage complex multi-entity client relationships at a high level.
Responsibilities- Manage and service a broad client portfolio spanning individual, business, trust, estate, partnership, and international tax matters
- Serve as the primary technical resource on international tax, covering inbound and outbound planning, foreign tax credit planning, GILTI high‑tax election modeling, and cross‑border structuring
- Prepare and review complex compliance forms including Forms 5471, 8865, 8858, 8990, 8991, 8992, 8993, 1118, K-1/K-3, 5472, 1120-F, 8621, 8832, SS-4, and FinCEN 114
- Lead international planning engagements covering M&A, reorganizations, transaction and liquidation planning, and foreign entity setup
- Manage multiple concurrent engagements, acting as the primary client contact and coordinating across compliance, planning, and M&A work streams
- Collaborate with specialty tax departments on global value chain consulting and treaty planning to align operational goals with tax‑efficient structures
- Mentor and develop junior staff, keeping teams current on international tax form changes and reporting updates
- Work directly with firm leadership on client relationships, business development support, and long‑term growth initiatives
- 7+ years of public accounting or relevant experience
- Hands‑on experience preparing and reviewing a broad range of international compliance forms including those listed above
- Strong working knowledge of inbound and outbound international tax planning, transfer pricing, foreign entity structures, and cross‑border M&A
- Experience across industries including private equity, manufacturing, technology, finance, or banking on the international compliance side
- Advisory mindset with the ability to communicate complex international tax matters clearly to clients and leadership
- Experience in private equity or partnership structures preferred
- CPA or EA preferred
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple engagements simultaneously
- Comfortable operating in a small firm environment with direct client relationships and close collaboration with firm leadership
