Senior Accountant

Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for a contract opportunity in Dallas, Texas. This role will support key accounting operations, month-end close activities, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

+ Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules

+ Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes

+ Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts

+ Analyze financial data and investigate variances

+ Support preparation of financial statements and internal reporting packages

+ Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls

+ Assist with accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and balance sheet reconciliations

+ Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and improve processes

+ Support audit requests and provide documentation as needed

+ Help with special projects, system implementations, and process improvement initiatives

Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

+ 5+ years of progressive accounting experience

+ Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles

+

Experience with month-end close and financial reporting

+ Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel

+ Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

+ CPA or CPA candidate preferred

+ Experience in large corporate or mid-sized business environments

+ Familiarity with ERP platforms such as Net Suite, Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics

+ Prior experience in a contract or interim accounting role
