Sr. Accountant

Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Dallas, Texas. This role is responsible for supporting core accounting functions, including month-end close, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and process improvement. The ideal candidate is hands-on, analytical, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while delivering accurate and timely results.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

+ Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments

+ Manage month-end and year-end close activities

+ Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies

+ Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules

+ Assist with financial statement preparation and internal reporting

+ Analyze variances and provide explanations to management

+ Maintain fixed asset schedules, prepaid expenses, and accruals

+ Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls

+ Support internal and external audit requests

+ Partner with finance and operational teams to resolve accounting issues

+ Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency

+ Assist with special projects and system implementations as needed

Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

+ 5+ years of progressive accounting experience

+ Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting

+

Experience with month-end close and financial reporting

+ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

+

Experience with ERP systems such as Net Suite, Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics

+ Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities

+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

+ Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
