SENIOR STAFF ACCOUNTANT (1099 Contractor)
About the role:
Fullridge Advisors, a boutique financial advisory firm, is engaging a Senior Staff Accountant on a 1099 independent contractor basis to own recurring accounting and monthly close deliverables across a portfolio of client engagements. This role sits at the center of our controllership work: keeping the books clean, closing the month accurately, and producing reliable financials that our advisory and FP&A work is built on.
1099 Contractor Engagement:
- Rate: $42 - $48 per hour
- Volume: 30 - 40 hours per week; supporting multiple clients concurrently
- Location:
Fully remote in the United States - Classification:
Independent contractor (1099). You will invoice Fullridge LLC for hours worked.
What you’ll do:
- Own the monthly close across multiple clients: journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and account reconciliations
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure books are accurate, tie out, and are close-ready on a predictable cadence
- Prepare GAAP-aligned financial statements and supporting schedules
- Manage AP/AR, bank and credit card reconciliations, and intercompany entries as needed
- Support cash-to-accrual conversion and accrual‑basis bookkeeping
- Handle e‑commerce accounting workflows:
Shopify/Amazon sales reconciliation, inventory and COGS entries, and payment‑processor tie‑outs - Communicate directly with client stakeholders and flag issues before they become close‑cycle problems
- Deliver clean, review‑ready work with minimal supervision
What you bring:
- 2–3 years of hands‑on accounting experience (staff accountant, bookkeeper‑to‑financials, or similar)
- Solid command of GAAP and accrual‑basis accounting; comfortable owning a monthly close end to end
- Strong reconciliation discipline and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems (Quick Books Online and/or similar); e‑commerce/Shopify and inventory data experience a plus
- A self‑directed operator who manages their own time, ramps quickly on unfamiliar client systems, and delivers to deadline without day‑to‑day direction
- Prior experience as a 1099 contractor, subcontractor, or in a similar independent capacity is strongly preferred
- Operating as an established independent contractor; your own business entity is preferred
CPA is not required. A bachelor’s degree is required.
This is a 1099 independent contractor engagement, not an employee position. You set your own schedule and work location (within the US). The role does not include employee benefits, paid time off, paid holidays, or health/retirement benefits. Compensation is strictly the hourly rate billed against hours worked.
