Responsibilities
- Analyze payroll tax data, perform calculations to ensure that payroll information is reported to federal, state and local agencies accurately via ADP services.
- Support tax reconciliation after each payroll cycle, monthly, quarterly & year-end adjustments.
- Assist in the preparation and processing of accurate and timely federal, multi-state and multi-jurisdiction withholding tax payments and handle incoming inquiries from employees and Finance teams.
- Support W2 reconciliation and W2 corrections and reissues.
- Assist in the investigation of payroll tax discrepancies, providing clear directions to resolutions.
- Assist in building and maintaining SOP of processes to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Document and review payroll tax processing procedures, make recommendations for change.
- Assist with payroll tax audits and other incoming audit requests.
- Assist in tax reconciliations and determine liability for accounts, divisions, or business units.
- Maintain knowledge of existing or revised tax codes, laws, or forms.
- Alert and work with VP, HR Administration on delinquent tax issues.
- Maintain federal, state and local agency account numbers and access.
- Act as team lead to support the team and provide direction when needed.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related degree required.
- Payroll certifications such as FPC or CPP are desired.
- A minimum of two years’ experience, or a combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., ADP Smart Compliance, SAP).
- Knowledge of payroll tax regulations and deductions, knowledge of Excel.
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state payroll and tax regulations.
- Excellent customer service skills with an ability to effectively handle and resolve employee inquiries and issues.
- Proficient in using MS Word, Excel, Access and Internet Explorer.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
- Demonstrated degree of professionalism and integrity.
- Problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
