- Supports one of the largest departments (~300 employees)
- Covers:
Roadways, Airfield, Facilities
- Strong accounting foundation (CPA not required)
- Month-end close:
- Journal entries
- Closing books (5-day close cycle)
- Hands-on individual contributor role (“in the weeds”)
- Lead annual budgeting process
- Manage forecasting:
- Budget + outlook loaded into planning tools
- Heavy business partnering
: - Works with 33 managers, 4 AVPs, and 1 VP
- Understand their operations and expenses
- Minimal revenue (small water revenue via commercial development)
- CAPEX handled by a separate department
- Reclassify costs to correct projects/funds
- Experience with:
- Planning tools (One Stream, etc.)
- Strong understanding of:
- Budgeting
- Forecasting
- Fund accounting
- Cost center accuracy
- Must be able to manipulate and analyze large datasets (“slice and dice data”)
- Hybrid of:
- Senior Accounting
- Senior FP&A
- NOT a corporate controller profile:
- Compensation not aligned with that level
- Role is highly hands‑on (no team management focus)
- Alternative title to search:
Senior Accountant
- Strong business partnering experience with senior leadership
- Budgeting and forecasting expertise
- Advanced systems and data analysis capabilities
- Comfortable working independently without heavy direction
- Well‑rounded experience across accounting and FP&A

- Training:
- First 3–4 months in accounting office
- Then transition to ETAM
- Must balance:
- On‑site: 5 days/week (flexible for life, but primarily on‑site)
- Hours:
- Initial ramp‑up may exceed 40 hours/week
