Job Summary

The Sr. Accountant, Fund Accounting is responsible for assisting in the accounting and financial reporting related to corporate transactions of our Joint Venture (JV) and Third-Party Management (3PM) entities. This role also supports the preparation of capital call notices, distribution notices, management fee calculations, equity pick‑ups, and other investment reporting requirements and may assist with quarterly and annual SEC filings.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in the reporting process for JV and 3PM entities to ensure accurate reporting within established closing and reporting calendars, including preparation and review of deliverables and adherence to deadlines.
  • Assist in all areas of JV entity‑level accounting, including capital calls, distributions, debt transactions, management fees, equity pick‑ups, and other expenses, as well as monthly, quarterly, and year‑end journal entries.
  • Read and understand loan agreements, partnership and JV agreements, 3PM agreements, investment documents, entity structures, investment prospectuses, loan agreements, and interest rate swap agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers and stakeholders, such as JV partner representatives, other corporate departments, field representatives, and senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams on confidential projects, including new entities or structures and review of draft and final documents, agreements, and information.
  • Aid in monthly, quarterly, and year‑end variance‑to‑budget analysis.
  • Assist with year‑end and other audit inquiries.
  • Participate in key projects and innovate processes to gain team efficiencies.
  • Comply with policies, procedures, and controls and bring inconsistencies and problems to management’s attention.

Education and/or Experience
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field is required.
  • 3+ years in an accounting or finance related position, with fund accounting experience a plus.
  • Experience in the real estate industry (or a large public company) is preferred.

  • Highly self‑motivated with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proven analytical and problem‑solving abilities, including the ability to identify and implement best practices that improve team effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
  • Proficient with Excel and excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • High energy and a can‑do attitude, exhibiting responsible and responsive tenacity.
  • Willingness and ability to be hands‑on to get the job done.
  • Experience working independently and in a team‑oriented, collaborative environment.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is: $67,875.00 – $, plus an annual discretionary bonus.
