Senior Accountant; Transactions

Our client, a top-tier real estate investment trust (REIT), is seeking a Senior Accountant (Transactions) to join their team in Dallas, TX. This is a dynamic, non-traditional accounting role that works on complex real estate transactions.

In this role, you'll work on complex, high-volume real estate deals rather than routine close cycles. You will own the accounting and financial reporting across a broad range of transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, restructurings, and strategic investments.

• Take ownership of journal entries across a high volume of acquisition, disposition, and investment transactions
• Analyze executed legal agreements to identify and apply the correct accounting treatment
• Draft accounting memos documenting research conclusions under GAAP and IFRS
• Build and maintain accounting estimation models for a variety of investment structures
• Set up new investment structures within financial reporting systems and monitor their ongoing financial performance
• Partner with Tax, Legal, Investments, and Finance on transaction integration and accounting alignment
• Contribute to quarterly external reporting disclosures

• 3+ years of relevant experience, ideally from a Big 4 or large regional firm with a focus in audit, financial due diligence, technical accounting or transactions
• Experience in accounting and financial reporting
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Masters or CPA preferred
