Church Accountant

Position Summary

The Church Accountant will oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the church, maintain accurate financial records, and provide timely reporting and budget support. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting experience, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to integrity and confidentiality in financial management. The position is full time, Monday through Thursday, with flexible hours as needed.

• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general financial transactions.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial reports and statements.
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records in compliance with church policies and procedures.
• Assist with the development and oversight of the annual church budget in partnership with church leadership.
• Compile and distribute annual contribution statements for donors.
• Provide financial guidance and support to ministry leaders, staff, and committees.
• Assist in preparing financial information and reports for congregational meetings.
• Ensure accuracy, transparency, and integrity in all financial reporting practices.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
• Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience required; experience in a church or nonprofit environment strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required; experience with ACS OnDemand accounting software is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively with church staff, leadership, and volunteers.
