Temporary Tax Accountant

We are looking for a Temporary Tax Accountant to support tax operations for a contract position based in Dallas, Texas. This opportunity is well suited for someone who can manage multi-state sales tax obligations with a high degree of accuracy. The role will contribute to timely filings, reliable tax records, and strong coordination across accounting activities in a service-focused environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit multi-state sales tax filings accurately and within required deadlines.
• Use Tax Jar and Avalara to manage sales tax data, reconcile filing details, and support compliance activities.
• Maintain tax-related accounting records by reviewing journal entries and ensuring general ledger accuracy.
• Assist with corporate tax processes by organizing documentation and supporting return preparation activities.
• Investigate filing variances, resolve discrepancies, and confirm that tax calculations align with source records.
• Work independently to prioritize deadlines, complete filings confidently, and uphold a high standard of accuracy.
• Partner with internal accounting stakeholders to gather required information and support ongoing tax reporting needs
