A well-established manufacturer with a strong footprint in specialized industrial and aerospace-adjacent materials is looking for a Senior Accountant to join its accounting team. This is a hands-on, ownership-oriented role supporting month-end close, balance sheet integrity, and cross-functional collaboration across finance and operations. The position is well-suited for an experienced accountant who thrives in a structured environment, takes pride in clean reconciliations, and wants visibility into a complex, multi-entity operation.
WhatYou ll Do
- Own and maintain assigned balance sheet accounts, including monthly reconciliations, amortization schedules, and fluctuation analysis
- Prepare and post journal entries covering accruals, reclassifications, OPEX/CAPEX adjustments, and intercompany transactions
- Manage corporate credit card and employee expense reimbursement accounting end-to-end, including system administration and policy compliance
- Co-own the received goods not invoiced (RGNI) reconciliation process, partnering with AP and procurement to resolve open items and track aging metrics
- Perform intercompany reconciliations and coordinate confirmations with affiliated entities
- Support sales and use tax compliance across multiple states, including use tax accruals at month-end close
- Prepare reporting packages, audit schedules, and supporting documentation for external auditors and consolidation activities
- Serve as backup support for accounts payable functions as needed
- Contribute to ERP testing, process improvement, and automation initiatives
- Provide informal mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff
Required:
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting or related field
- 3+ years of general ledger, accounts payable, or corporate accounting experience
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
- Demonstrated expertise in account reconciliations and variance resolution
- Working knowledge of multi-state sales and use tax regulations
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) experience
- Prior involvement in system implementation or process improvement projects
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff
- Broad, ownership-oriented scope across general ledger, intercompany, tax, and reporting functions
- Stable, established organization with a strong market position in its sector
- Direct exposure to external audit, consolidation, and ERP-level process improvement
- Collaborative team environment with cross-functional visibility into operations, procurement, and AP
