Controller​/Sr. Accountant

Double Diamond Companies is seeking an experienced accounting professional to assist the CFO with financial reconciliations, audit preparation, and balance sheet cleanup during a critical accounting and audit period. This is a hands‑on, project‑based position focused on ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the company's financial records across multiple entities.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience with complex reconciliations, financial statement preparation, month‑end close, and multi‑entity accounting. This role is best suited for someone who enjoys digging into financial data, resolving discrepancies, and preparing clean, audit‑ready financial records.

• Assist the CFO with audit preparation and provide supporting schedules and documentation for external auditors.
• Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding reconciling items.
• Reconcile multiple bank accounts across numerous legal entities.
• Reconcile fixed assets, notes receivable, notes payable, accrued liabilities, prepaid expenses, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Review and reconcile interest income and interest expense accounts.
• Prepare and post adjusting journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and period‑end entries.
• Ensure all journal entries are recorded in the proper accounting period in accordance with GAAP.
• Review the Chart of Accounts for accuracy and consistency.
• Prepare and record intercompany transactions and elimination entries for consolidated financial reporting.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end close activities.
• Analyze financial statements to identify discrepancies and ensure account balances are properly supported.
• Research and resolve accounting issues while maintaining complete supporting documentation.
• Assist in improving reconciliation processes and strengthening internal accounting controls.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience working within a multi‑entity corporate environment.
• Strong knowledge of:

• General Ledger accounting
• Financial statement preparation
• Chart of Accounts structure
• Month‑end and year‑end close
• Journal entries and accrual accounting
• GAAP principles

• Extensive experience performing complex balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience with:

• Audit preparation
• Intercompany accounting
• Elimination entries
• Fixed asset accounting
• Notes payable and notes receivable
• Interest income and interest expense accounting

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
• ERP experience required (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience is highly preferred).
