Tarvos Talent is partnering with a growing commercial real estate organization to identify a Property Accountant for an onsite opportunity in Dallas, TX
. This role offers strong visibility, a collaborative team environment, and the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio while gaining exposure to acquisitions, dispositions, and advanced accounting projects.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, reports, and supporting schedules for multiple properties and ownership groups
- Perform monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities
- Balance cash accounts and complete balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensure proper coding of income and expense transactions and maintain financial accuracy
- Support cash forecasting, distributions, capital schedules, and other financial analyses
- Prepare loan draw requests and coordinate banking activities as required
- Assist with property acquisitions, dispositions, and onboarding of newly acquired assets
- Partner with property management teams to support financial reporting and accounting operations
- Work with external tax professionals and internal stakeholders on tax-related accounting matters
- Review accounting work prepared by team members and provide support when needed
- Participate in special projects, process improvements, and initiatives supporting organizational growth
- Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA or advanced accounting credentials preferred
- 3+ years of accounting experience; commercial real estate experience highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and internal controls
- Experience with property management and accounting systems such as Yardi, MRI, Skyline, or similar platforms
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and organization
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to take ownership of projects
