What You'll Do- Manage a diverse portfolio of CAS client engagements, serving as the primary relationship leader and strategic advisor for outsourced accounting services.
- Review complex bookkeeping files, general ledger reconciliations, book-to-tax adjustments, and financial statement compilations (GAAP and tax-basis reporting).
- Oversee business compliance services, including 1099 filings, sales tax, payroll tax reporting, and local business filings.
- Manage engagement economics-monitoring workflow, billing cycles, work-in-progress (WIP), and team capacity to ensure on-time delivery.
- Mentor, train, and supervise staff and senior associates, fostering their technical skills and professional growth through real-time feedback.
- Collaborate directly with the firm's Tax practice to ensure seamless integration between client advisory accounting and tax planning/preparation.
- Support practice growth by evaluating prospective client needs, scoping advisory engagements, and onboarding new relationships.
- 5+ years of progressive public accounting or outsourced accounting experience, with a focus on Client Advisory Services (CAS) or Client Accounting Services.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Active CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation (preferred).
- Deep technical proficiency in Quick Books Online/Desktop and modern cloud-based accounting ecosystems (e.g., , Gusto, CCH suite).
- Proven ability to lead client communications, manage concurrent timelines, and guide business owners on financial operations.
- Prior experience managing a team of accountants or CAS specialists.
- Experience implementing accounting technology, workflow automation, and tech-stack integrations for small-to-midsize businesses.
- Strong background in entity-level tax planning awareness (S-Corps, Partnerships, LLCs).
- Base salary: $115,000-$145,000 per year depending on experience.
