The TSS Operations Lead works within a workstream of the US Talent Shared Services (TSS) Center.

As a TSS Operations Lead, Administrative Advanced, you’ll be expected to process and review complex transactions, evaluate, and improve processes, provide guidance and training to less experienced and new team members, and contribute to projects as needed. You will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and processing all payroll information for a designated work group.

• Extensive knowledge of payroll principles and accounting controls
• Effective communication using proper payroll terminology, professionalism, and the ability to preserve confidentiality
• Complex knowledge in payroll compliance to produce accurate paychecks exclusive of taxable/nontaxable compensation and tax reporting
• Able to manage tasks and activities in a timely manner and accountability for desired outcomes with limited supervision
• Develop and manage client relationships and expectations
• Perform specialized and complex tasks and contribute to projects
• Manage escalations in a timely manner
• Train, share knowledge, and act as a role model for junior TSS team members
• Provide back-up support to TSS Operations Analyst Associates (OAAs) as needed
• Identify and share process improvement ideas with TSS leadership and implement approved process improvements
• Proactively communicate questions and concerns with TSS leadership and clients
• Review and process Payroll transactions in accordance with established department and state / local guidelines
• Determine and set-up employee’s tax obligations dependent on work, home and/or engagement locations
• Responsible for all aspects of reconciliation and balancing of Payroll transactions
• Process multi-state adjustments per timesheet submissions
• Support complex payroll transactions including domestic and international transfers, partner earnings and partner separations transactions
• Analyze, calculate, and determine appropriate approach for off-cycle transactions, over payments, disability adjustments, retro payments, and final payouts in accordance with federal and state regulatory guidelines
• Communicate with members of the Americas Talent Team (ATT), EY personnel and external parties
• Perform duties and responsibilities in accordance with established policies and procedures

• Competency in core payroll concepts such as hires, separations, and data integrity
• Demonstrated analytical skills, effective problem solving, and decision making in daily operations
• Able to use analytical discoveries to improve the client experience
• Follow through on commitments and accept ownership of results
• Comprehensive understanding of Payroll principles and all federal, state, and local wage and tax mandates
• Ability to demonstrate good judgement and experience in applying concepts and guidelines
• Able to effectively prioritize assignments to meet scheduled deadlines in accordance with department guidance
• Analyze and interpret system payments for reconciliation purposes
• Adept at identifying and proposing solutions for process improvements
• Understand the expectations of clients and deliver exceptional client service
• Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills
• Demonstrated advanced proficiency with Firm standard technology including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Success Factors, and other related applications
• Ability to prioritize workload complete multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and function independently while exercising sound judgement
• Interact effectively and maintain a positive demeanour in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating tact and diplomacy
