About the Role:
As our Controller, you'll be at the heart of our financial operations, playing a pivotal role in driving continued success. You'll be responsible for managing the accounting and reporting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including monthly and year-end close, financial reporting, and general ledger maintenance.
- Manage cash flow, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and accurate forecasting.
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Lead the selection and implementation of a new ERP system, ensuring seamless integration and data migration.
- Develop and maintain accurate project-level cost accounting, utilizing Percentage of Completion (POC) methods.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, providing insights to management and private equity stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and drive efficiency.
- Manage and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Proven experience in a controller or senior accounting role, preferably within the construction, landscaping, or related industry.
- Strong knowledge of Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting methods.
- Experience with ERP system implementation and management (experience with Service Titan, Aspire, or similar).
- Proficiency in Quick Books and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with private equity-backed companies.
- CPA certification.
