Controller – REIT Finance Leader, SEC Reporting

Spectrum Search is working closely with a REIT in Dallas looking to add a Controller. This role works directly with the CFO and plays a key part in financial reporting, process improvement, and ad hoc projects/initiatives.

This role will wear several hats, interact with other divisions, and have quite a bit of visibility.

Responsibilities:

• Partner closely with the CFO on reporting, analysis, and ad hoc strategies
• Support quarterly and SEC reporting, tie-outs to the 10-Q, and earnings support
• Handle lease accounting, net leases, and forward function for REITs
• Assist with forecasts and cash flow planning, including weekly reporting
• Lead internal controls and process documentation as the company scales
• Coordinate with external auditors
• Drive process improvement and automation initiatives
• Work within Yardi and Active Disclosure environments

Experience:

• CPA required (public accounting experience strongly preferred)
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting foundation
• REIT experience
• Ability to thrive in a fast-changing, high-priority environment
• Highly organized with strong judgment and communication skills
• Process-improvement mindset — experience building or improving workflows

Depending on experience and skill set, this role will pay $140k-$155k + 15-20% bonus + stock-based compensation.
