Our client is a growing healthcare services organization with operations across multiple regions. The company is continuing to invest in its finance and accounting infrastructure and is looking for an experienced accounting professional who can provide leadership, improve processes, and bring greater efficiency to a high-volume accounting environment.
The Accounting Supervisor will provide accounting leadership across multiple regions and serve as a key resource for a team of experienced Senior Accountants. The role is less about managing through a traditional hierarchy and more about being a technical and operational accounting resource who can make decisions, solve problems, and provide guidance to experienced team members.
The accounting entries themselves are generally not highly complex; however, the underlying volume, data management, allocation processes, and reconciliation requirements can be.
Healthcare experience-particularly exposure to Medicare, Medicaid, and healthcare revenue-is highly preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a go-to accounting resource for Senior Accountants and other members of the finance and accounting organization.
- Provide guidance and direction to a team of experienced accountants supporting approximately six regions.
- Review and provide oversight of accounting activity, reconciliations, journal entries, and balance sheet accounts.
- Support a peer-review environment in which Senior Accountants review and approve one another's journal entries, with additional supervisory review as needed.
- Assist with Black Line reconciliations and provide ad hoc review and support when other members of leadership are unavailable.
- Oversee accounting processes across a broad range of balance sheet accounts and ensure financial information is complete, accurate, and timely.
- Work with large volumes of financial and operational data and identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- Own and improve revenue allocation and other allocation processes across multiple regions.
