Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and analyzing accounting activities across oil and gas operations, including month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, revenue, joint interest accounting, and operational expenses. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and experience working in a complex, multi-entity environment.

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.
• Analyze general ledger activity and investigate variances between actual results, budgets, and forecasts.
• Support accounting for oil and gas exploration, production, development, and operating activities

• Perform accounting for oil and gas revenue, royalties, production taxes, operating expenses, and capital expenditures
  .
• Assist with joint interest billing, joint venture accounting, working interests, and non-operated properties
  .
• Reconcile production volumes, revenue statements, owner statements, and general ledger balances.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reporting packages.
• Assist with fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and capital project tracking.
• Support impairment analysis, asset retirement obligations, and other complex oil and gas accounting matters.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, company accounting policies, and applicable regulatory requirements

• Assist with external audits, tax requests, and financial reporting requirements.
• Develop and maintain accounting processes and internal controls to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to automate and improve reporting and accounting processes.
• Partner with operations, land, revenue, FP&A, treasury, tax, and other cross-functional teams.
• Provide accounting analysis and recommendations to management on complex transactions and business activities.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4–7+ years of accounting experience
  , preferably within oil & gas, energy, upstream, midstream, or related industries.
