Senior Administrative Associate – Advocacy

Senior Administrative Associate – Advocacy position at UNT Dallas College of Law. The role performs a wide variety of administrative business functions including budgeting, procurement, employee and student reimbursements, trainings, and reporting in support of multiple departments and programs across campus.

Position Overview

Offers ability to work independently as well as in a supportive team atmosphere.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Advocacy Director with preparing for student competitions: travel requests, travel reimbursements, and travel setup.
  • Monitor and execute expenditures within budgets; provide staff assistance in negotiation and administration of contracts and grants.
  • Promptly complete assignments and keep calendars for Advocacy Competitions.
  • Order, monitor, and maintain adequate levels of office supplies and administrative materials; make other purchases as needed.
  • Follow appropriate safety procedures and security measures related to work performed.
  • Understand and follow rules regarding confidentiality relating to all office and student matters.
  • Provide input and administrative support for operational changes.
  • Assist in greeting and answering queries from students/faculty or visitors to the Dean's Office; answer telephone, take messages, provide information.
  • Assist Dean's Office and academic programs with social media, creating flyers, and other printed materials.
  • Schedule rooms for the departments.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

High School diploma or GED equivalent with three (3) years of general office or clerical experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced written communication skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting/budgeting procedures.
  • Ability to work under pressure, adjust to constant changes, handle multiple tasks, and coordinate the work of others.
  • Ability to keep complex records, assemble and organize data of complex nature, and prepare and submit reports in professional formats.
  • Ability to conceptualize, plan and organize multiple programs and assignments effectively.
  • Ability to work on complex and confidential tasks utilizing judgment, tact, and resourcefulness.
  • Skilled in developing and maintaining good working relationships.
  • Knowledge of policies, practices, procedures and terminology of assigned function.
Physical Requirements
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

  • No adverse environmental conditions expected.
