This position provides support in the document management and application processing for the undergraduate admissions office. Responsibilities include daily processing of prospective student applications into the University’s student database, evaluation of official secondary and post‑secondary transcripts, and application of University admission criteria to determine admission decisions. The processor also creates, maintains, and organizes student records using an imaging system and the University student system software.
Working under the direction of the Assistant Director for Undergraduate Admissions Processing, the Admissions Processor assists in developing office processes and procedures, and may be required to help train new staff.
Associate’s degree and one (1) year of office administration experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

- Knowledge of admission rules and regulations, FERPA, and university policies.
- Provide support in application processing for new and returning students.
- Download all new student applications into the University’s student database and enter data accurately and efficiently.
- Process readmit (returning student) applications.
- Determine residency status according to state regulations.
- Print officially downloaded transcripts.
- Evaluate secondary and postsecondary academic transcripts based on University criteria.
- Manually enter transferable credit from students’ previous institutions.
- Follow University application guidelines and state education regulations, and determine and administer admission decisions based on University criteria.
- Assist in training new staff in application processing.
- Assist student workers with imaging, indexing, document identification and redaction as needed.
- Assist in test downloading process.
- Handle and intake basic correspondence, and generate memos and letters to respond to or facilitate student requests for assistance.
- Run various reports accurately as needed during peak season or in preparation for admission‑related events.
- Attend admission staff meetings and participate in information sharing.
- Correspond with Registrar’s offices at other colleges/universities regarding authenticity and verification of official transcripts.
- Prepare and provide statistical and other reports of work performed; assist with other clerical, administrative support, or general tasks as required.
- Monitor and provide responses to emails sent via the admissions processing inbox.
- Enter any additional documentation needed to complete the application process.
- Resolve requests for adjustments on applications and make corrections and updates to applicant information in the student information system.
- Assist in clean‑up and purging of files by the 12th class day by separating enrolled and non‑enrolled applicants.
